What is Reiki Lineage?
It is traditional in Eastern modalities to acknowledge the lineage in which you trained. Usui Reiki is no different. If you train with me, you will have this lineage. Some teachers say you absolutely must take all levels of Reiki with the same teacher. I do not believe this to be necessary. Many practitioners study with different instructors for the various Levels within Reiki training.
It is customary to list the Reiki Practitioner who transmitted your Level 3 Attunement to Reiki Master or Reiki Master Teacher as your teacher and thus, take on that lineage. If you train only to Level 1 or Level 2, you would be said to have the lineage of the teacher who trained you up to that point.
In my opinion, the lineage is not important in determining your skill or ability as a Reiki Practitioner. What is important is your willingness to acknowledge the divine as the Source of all healings, whether those healings be Reiki or otherwise. It is also important that the Practitioner work on themselves by putting their own health as a priority, using prayer/meditation regularly, practicing love and compassion in the world and deepening the spiritual connection.
Listed above is my Reiki lineage.
